Virtual Primary Care / Telemedicine

In today’s virtual age, and with the expectations of both physicians and patients, the Novari eVisit™ module allows patients, within the public healthcare system, virtual access to their primary care physician and optionally with other local GPs. From both mobile and desktop devices, this “Wait 0” system uses secure instant messaging, voice and video conferencing to improve access to primary care when clinically appropriate.

Virtual access to primary care is efficient and convenient for both providers and patients. Prescriptions and referrals can be initiated from the Novari eVisit system and a detailed report is generated from every virtual visit.

Charting & Continuity of Care

Physicians can chart the visit in their existing electronic medical record system (EMR) or choose to chart the virtual visit directly in the Novari eVisit™ module. In some jurisdictions, once an eVisit is completed, the clinician’s charting notes and all attachments are provided in an outcome report that can be automatically sent to the patient’s primary care provider or directly into the physician’s EMR.

Electronic Referrals

With integration to the Novari eRequest® module, when seeing a patient virtually, physicians can initiate referrals directly from within the Novari eVisit module. Novari eRequest electronically manages referrals and primary care “eConsults” for specialist consultations.

FEATURES

Communication

Notifications keep patients and providers up-to-date from the initial patient request for a virtual visit, to completion of the eVisit. In compliance with local privacy legislation, users can indicate their notification preferences to conveniently receive text, email and voice message updates on the eVisit appointment status. Conduct virtual visits via secure instant messaging, audio or video calls. Providers can attach documents to the visit allowing patients to access referral forms, educational materials and other relevant documentation.

Requisitions & Prescriptions

Novari eVisit™ enables the physician to electronically generate lab requisitions, imaging requisitions and prescriptions. Prescriptions are automatically sent to the patient’s preferred pharmacy (patients’ access to printed prescriptions can be restricted). Lab and imaging requisitions are attached directly to the eVisit record and can be made accessible to patients for download and printing.

Mobile and Desktop Application

Patients and clinicians can access Novari eVisit through a web browser on any type of device or via the Novari eVisit native Android or IOS (Apple) applications.*

Patients & Caregivers

Each patient can create and manage their detailed profile including demographics, clinical information, contact preferences and pharmacy/lab preferences. Patients may also create sub-accounts for family members and dependents to allow, for example, a parent to manage virtual care for children or aging parents.

Throttle Demand

Novari eVisit is designed for use in publicly funded healthcare systems such as those in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, etc. The module includes throttling functionality to contain overutilization. The annual number of eVisits that patients are eligible for can be set at a state / provincial, regional, physician or individual patient level. For example, a state/province may set a limit of 6 virtual visits per year per patient. However, in some more remote regions, or for certain patient populations with complex needs, this limit might be increased to 12.

On-Call Clinician Schedule

Optionally, the system can be configured with “virtual waiting rooms” and corresponding on-call schedules for clinicians. The on-call clinician scheduler functionality allows administrators and physicians to manage their on-call availability.

Business Intelligence

Generate on-demand clinician remuneration reports with the Novari eVisit reporting module. Real-time Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provide administrators with metrics for performance reporting and decision-making. Use Novari eVisit to generate system performance reports, or download raw data extracts to use in your own custom reporting tool. Individual clinician dashboards provide personalized performance metrics as well as summaries.

Security & Privacy

Novari eVisit™ uses RSA and AES with 256-bit end-to-end encryption and meets federal and provincial privacy legislation requirements. All data is secured in Canadian Microsoft Azure datacenters.

*Android and IOS (Apple) apps are available to patients for download subject to a small one-time app purchase fee. The web version of the Novari eVisit application is available to patients and physicians at no charge.
