KINGSTON, ON – Novari Health is pleased to announce it has completed another successful implementation of its surgical wait list management and eBooking technology. Norfolk General and West Haldimand General Hospitals are the latest Canadian hospitals to implement Novari’s surgical access to care (ATC™) technology.

The Novari Health technology is being provided as software as a service (SaaS) to the hospitals and all surgical offices. The system provides surgeons and their office staff access to a standardized electronic wait list management system and the ability to electronically coordinate the scheduling of surgeries and procedures with the hospitals. The software enhances the ability for collaboration and management of pooled lists of patients waiting for surgery as well as supporting a regional view of the demand for surgical services.

The Ontario Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, and hospitals across the province have been working to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients waiting for surgery. Having a modern wait list management system complements these efforts for all patients including those waiting for surgical and medical consults, surgery, and other procedures.

Novari Health’s innovative and unique access to care technologies are live and being implemented at dozens of hospitals and regional health authorities across Canada.

“Novari offers an exceptional implementation experience as project planning and go-live through a pandemic is not easy! The support team is truly amazing. Novari ATC has changed the way patients are scheduled, giving more control of patient lists to the surgeon and their office. Everything is visible and accessible within Novari ATC, including data for monthly reporting.” – Sherry Chambers, Director of Perioperative Services/Ambulatory Care, Norfolk General Hospital

“Novari ATC integrates our physician offices with WHGH perioperative scheduling system. Prior to Novari the process at our hospital has been paper based. A list held by ward clerks and the surgeons office staff of the patients waiting and their target dates to get surgery. Now, with Novari, we will no longer need the paper lists. The surgeon’s office has a comprehensive patient list visible on a screen in order of priority. The patients who have waited the longest are at the top of the list. The information is readily available, easy to share and objective. The implementation of Novari ATC will benefit our medical staff, restructure our perioperative processes and most importantly enhance patient care. We expect our hospital will gain tremendous new efficiencies through data gathering and analysis.” – AnneMarie VanSickle, Clinical Director Perioperative Department, West Haldimand General Hospital

“Having a modern wait list management system in the hands of surgeons and hospital administrators has proven to be an invaluable tool as health systems across the country work hard to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic on surgical wait times.” – John Sinclair, CPHIMS-CA, President, Novari Health
