KINGSTON, ON – The Mississauga Halton region of Ontario is expanding its region wide use of the Novari Access to Care software platform. Novari Health has announced that it has executed an agreement with Halton Healthcare to expand the region’s current use of the Novari eRequest module.
With funding from Ontario Health, Halton Healthcare manages the Mississauga Halton Central Intake Program. The MH Central Intake Program serves as a single regional access point for referrals to diabetes education programs, addictions and mental health (one-Link), foot care services, hip & knee rapid assessment clinics and low back pain rapid access clinics.
The MH Central Intake Program relies on Novari eRequest software to help ensure that patients get to the right provider, at the right time and with complete referral information. The use of the Novari software will now be expanded to include shoulder referrals.
Novari eRequest is a 4-in-1 solution providing Halton Healthcare and other clients with referral management, central intake, workflow management and business intelligence capabilities. The system can be configured for any type of clinical service, any referral model, and any workflow. Its use has enabled the implementation of central intake models across regions and provinces and at individual hospitals. Novari eRequest is the system that makes central intake models easily scalable and financially sustainable.
The software is being provided as software as a service (SaaS). Referral workflows for these specialized services are complex and still paper and fax based at most Canadian hospitals and health regions. The Novari technology provides front line staff, clinicians, and management with accurate and real-time data on the volume of referrals, the status of every patient’s referral and bottlenecks in the system.
The Ontario Ministry of Health, Ontario Health and hospitals across the province have been working hard to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients. Having a modern referral management, central intake, wait list management and electronic workflow system complements these efforts for all patients including those being referred and those waiting for surgery and other procedures.
